Craig needed to be in San Fran for work and we decided it would be nice to plan a little getaway to Sonoma while he was out there. I flew out on Friday to meet him and we spent an amazing long weekend in Sonoma wine country. We had done the Napa side before so it was nice to explore a new area.

STAY
Gaige House
We stayed at this lovely B&B at the recommendation of some friends. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to the best room on the property just because I had mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday (albeit a little early). We had a huge room with an amazing creek view. The room was both cozy and airy due to the floor to ceiling window and fireplace. I love bed and breakfasts because they feel so homey and you can usually count on a great breakfast. I would highly recommend this place and we agreed the location was great.

DRINK
Scribe || We had some friends visit this vineyard when they were in Sonoma and it looked amazing so it was at the top of my list when I was researching places. We drove here straight from the airport. The beautiful hacienda has been impeccably restored and it doesn't hurt that their standard tasting includes a delicious meal. We were blown away. This is a MUST if you're in the Sonoma area.

Banshee || On Saturday, we drove up to Healdsburg to explore the downtown area and visit the Banshee tasting room. This was such a fun spot and nice to be in the town center. We got terribly over-served and ended up purchasing a case a wine. We stumbled out quite tipsy in search of something greasy. Good news: when the wine arrived back in Virginia a week later, we still loved it just as much. I'm looking forward to having access to it when we're out in SF.

Repris || This super secret vineyard was another recommendation from some SF locals. It's super exclusive and appointment only. You can only purchase the wines on site at the vineyard and only if you are a member of the club. During your tasting, they take you on an ATV tour through the vineyards which was beautiful. It's also one of the only vineyards left that has a wine cave that you can actually go inside (they do super private dinners in there as well).

Pangloss || This tasting room in downtown Sonoma is a sister site to Repris so we hopped over there after being wowed at Repris. It's got a cool vibe and the wine was nice. Ideally, visit the secret tasting room (Texture) in the back which allows for a more exclusive experience.
